About Me!
Well, hello there! My name is Anna Martinson and I recently graduated with my BFA in Theatre from Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. I am originally from Mahtomedi, MN, which is a small suburb near the Twin Cities. I have been doing theatre since I was six years old and immediately fell in love. And while it feels like my whole life has been taken over by theatre, I do have other hobbies. I enjoy drawing and painting, embroidery, swimming, and I also play D&D. I also really enjoy self expression through my hair colors. I tend to dye my hair around 3 times a year with pink being one of my favorites. I lead quite a colorful life!
I want to tell new stories from queer and neurodiverse voices. I want people like me to be able to see themselves on stage and know that they can be anything they want to be. In April of 2023 I had the amazing opportunity to see The Prom at The Chanhassen Dinner Theatre and it was such a healing and emotional night. The energy flowing from cast to audience was electric and I want to become a vessel for those kinds of stories to live on in the contemporary theatre canon.
Another passion in my life is educational theatre. Since my junior year of high school I have worked at my local community theatre with their summer youth programming and it has been an amazing experience. Getting to work with children keeps me on my toes and allows me to be inspired by the future generations of theatre artists. It lets me be flexible in my teaching of theatre and has given me a greater understanding of working with all kinds of people.
Below are some recent photos of the things and people closest to me.
